Mercure Daventry Court Hotel, Daventry

My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were clean and spacious, representing good value for money, but they were a bit noisy late at night due to being very close to locals. The service was a bit hit or miss, with some helpful staff but also issues with getting requests fulfilled. The location was convenient for my needs and close to the family I was visiting, although the noise from chess players was noticeable. The dining experience was average, with some lovely aspects but also some cold and inedible food. Overall, a decent stay with some room for improvement.

The hotel room I stayed in was not as clean as I expected, with bits on the floor needing a vacuum, paint peeling off the walls, and a leaking shower screen that flooded the bathroom. However, the staff were helpful and polite. The location allowed for nice walks by the canal, though the service at dinnertime was slow. The dining experience was much better during breakfast, with excellent cooked food. The hotel offers some lovely facilities with spacious modern rooms and a nice courtyard.
